Ask Me Anything. And.... I Slept with an Elephant. Kinda.

Oh God... is this wise?

Here goes nothing. I read @TwiredJen & @Elusive_S's posts over at TWIRED the other day inviting readers to ask anything of ES. It was freakin hilarious! So, I thought I'd see if I could recreate the magic...

First though, I gots to tell you about my latest Robdream. I know, another one! Score! (hehehe)

So, on Saturday night I was at Brownie Camp. As in, me and two other adults, in a hall, with 12 girls aged 7 to 10, hyped up on sugar. I'm impressed I managed any sleep, let alone dreams.

We had organised a 'surprise activity' for the end of camp on Sunday. The girls were really excited to hear what it was and were pestering us on Saturday night to tell them. Of course we didn't. So when I went to sleep, my brain turns that into a GOOD thing.

In dream-camp, the surprise was that Rosie/Tai the elephant came to camp for the girls to meet her. And with her, came her zoo keeper. Enter Robkowski. Ohai there...

Rosie and Rob arrived at night after the girls were asleep, so that they could be surprised in the morning. So Rosie just curls up in the corner of the hall, hay and all (just like in this pic) and goes to sleep. She was quiet as a mouse.

Rob, who coincidentally was my boyfriend - hence he could pull some strings to bring Rosie out of the zoo for the night - comes over to my bed (ok ok it was an air-mattress on the floor), hops into his own sleeping bag, and spoons me all night long. There were others all around us so no funny business, but we spooned all night and he whispered in my ear and it was just generally LOVELY. Did I mention we spooned all night?

Wanna roll in the hay?

Soooo, back to RL. I told the girls about my dream in the morning (just the elephant part, it was carefully edited) and they laughed and laughed. I was laughing on the inside, remembering the spooning...

ANYWAY...

What do you want to know about me? You wanna know anything that happened between this:

1980
Paddling pool FTW!

And this?

2011 - My 31st birthday.
In the rain at a concert. Hammered.

I can't wait to read your questions in the comments. Argh... do I really wanna do this? Right. Here goes nothin'.....

Seven Little Words Cause Worldwide Robgasm

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last week, you'll be aware that the twi-verse had a collective ROBGASM yesterday. My heart rate is only now returning to normal.

Firstly, Rob gave a 30 minute interview on MTV.com during which, I thought, he appeared relaxed, genuine, and as though he was enjoying his chat. I certainly was.

She really like it when I...

I had major frustrations when the 'live' links to the MTV Australia site were a steaming pile of shit, but then the lovely girls at Robsessed posted the clips really quickly. Initially, there were 31 mini clips (cos that's not annoying at all) but now they've got a full length clip on their site, here.

The single most memorable thing I took away from this was the phrase:

"Kneel, open your mouth, smile and pray"

Oh. My. God. My ovaries just 'sploded. He may or may not have been discussing the words he learned in Polish to teach Rosie to do things, but he was really speaking to the vaginas of all his fans. For realz.

I also laughed when he read a few of the questions submitted via twitter and laughed at people's twitter names. "You can't fool me" - umm, sweetie, you'd be SCARED if you knew half of what goes on....

Then, he was on the Jay Leno show. I've only seen the clip once, in very low quality, but I felt a little sad for him. I thought he looked uncomfortable and not nearly as natural as he was on MTV. This is possibly because I was comparing the two, but who wasn't?

They call it.... finger p0rn? Whaat?

I loved hearing Rob talk about his relationship with Tai the elephant. He was really lovely in speaking about working with her and it seemed he really warmed to her. Awww. And how cute is this!

Apparently there are millions of women
who want me in their mouths...

You can watch the Leno interview, once again at Robsessed, here.

What did you think of Rob's interviews?

Twilight: Thank You for the Music!

I've been at home sick for most of this week and today I'm feeling a little better. Not well enough to go to work (don't be silly... It's Friday after all!) and I am SO bored of sitting around doing not a hell of a lot. Fan fiction counts as being productive, right? Anyway, I starting thinking - as you do - about my next blog post. I decided a twi-music review was in order, so here goes!

Warning: this post is looooong. Apparently I have too much time on my hands.

Since falling into the twi-vortex, my mind has been opened to loads of fantastic music thanks to the soundtracks of the movies, the playlists that loads of fuckawesome fic authors post, and of course, recs from my twi-friends.

SOUNDTRACKS

This week, I replayed all three movie soundtracks. I rank them, as albums, in the following order:

1. Eclipse
2. Twilight
3. New Moon

I was planning to list one standout favourite from each soundtrack. Hmm, seems I'm not capable (with the first two, anyhoo) of narrowing them down! Trying to focus here on bands I either hadn't heard of, or didn't know that well pre-soundtrack.

ECLIPSE
Hands-down favourite - Florence + the Machine: Heavy in Your Arms

I have the Lungs album - highly recommend. Although, part of me thinks that Dog Days are Over might have been a more appropriate choice for Eclipse, yes?

Other top choices from Eclipse
Battles: The Line; Vampire Weekend: Jonathon Low; UNKLE: With You in My Head; Black Keys: Chop & Change; Metric: Eclipse.

TWILIGHT
Hands down favourite - Collective Soul: Tremble for my Beloved

I had heard of Collective Soul, like, back in the day, when I didn't really 'get' music - but this song spurred me to download Seven Year Itch - and I love every track!

Other notable mentions from Twilight:
Rob Pattinson (OMG really?) Never Think and Let Me Sign; Iron & Wine: Flightless Bird, American Mouth.

NEW MOON
Hands down favourite (although there were slim pickings) - Thom Yorke: Hearing Damage

The only other songs I can recommend from the NM soundtrack were from Muse and The Killers. As the aim of this post was for me to learn about new music, and these are two of my all time favourite bands, that's all I got!

I won't start on the scores of the movies (yes, I have them too) but may I just say that Howard Shore did a fantastic job in Eclipse, particularly how he wove the Metric song through the score. I loved it!

EVERYTHING COMES BACK TO TWILIGHT

There are several bands that I now LOVE and have properly discovered thank to the twi-verse. Top mentions:

Muse. I love Muse. I know loads of other people do too, but I REALLY love Muse. They played at a festival here last summer that I didn't get a ticket to, and I could hear them playing from my house. That's pain, people. The Resistance is one of my all time favourite albums; and as for singles - my top three are Supermassive Black Hole; Undisclosed Desires; Hysteria and Uprising. (yeah, so that's four. Sue me).

100 Monkeys. I knew Jacksper was in a band, but until I 'met' TwiredJen and Jaymes805, I didn't really KNOW Jacksper was in a band, if you know what I mean. After following these ladies (on twitter, not like a stalker) I was soon curious and recently downloaded Grape. Fantastic album! My top three songs of theirs are probably Orson Brawl; .38 Special and Wings on Fire. I am clinging to hope that they might be playing live when I am in the States in a few months, so that I can see what all the fuss is about for myself.

Recently, I sent out a music rec request email to loads of my twi-friends. I knew I could count on Jenny Jerkface to hook a brother up. And hook me up she did! The email was massive (like, a novel. Thanks JJ)

Although there were a MILLION bands on JJ's list, the one with the most enthusiasm behind it (aka number of exclamation marks) was Man Man. I'd never heard of Man Man before I heard JJ talking about it on Twitarded (or maybe twitter). Regardless, I checked them out on YouTube and downloaded what Jenny said was their most 'palatable' album: Rabbit Habits. I love it!

JJ's list also included bands like Mumford & Sons (LOVE Sigh No More), The Arcade Fire, The National and Iron & Wine. I can't wait to continue my education!

AND FINALLY

A couple of Kiwi recs for you all.

The Naked & Famous: These kids are doing so well. They're plaing SXSW this year! All the way from New Zealand! I love them, and their debut album Passive Me, Aggressive You. Check out Young Blood:

The Hot Grits: I first went to see these guys live because a friend of a friend is in the band. They are awesome! About 11 or 12 of them on stage (usually) just rocking out... at times completely randomly. I love it! I think the 100 Monkeys and Man Man fans amongst us may just be interested.

*Note: this music video was recently banned in NZ for 'innapropriate content'*

Aaaannnd I'm spent. Got any good recs you'd like to share? Go on, you know you want to...

I'm Not Mental or Anything...

Hi y'all!

I'm so excited to have a guest post on TwiKiwi, it's been a long time coming from when I was first introduced. [note from TK50: umm, it was the first week of January, man. I'd almost forgotten!] Anyway, I got all SQUEE-like and had all these ideas for posts when Twikiwi50 first asked me, and then struggled to find the actual time and balls to write something.

It's much faster to read a blog than write one! I don't know how you bitches do it (but I'm glad you do). TK50 holds down a fulltime job and not only writes her blog but is very loyal to her international blog buddies and twitter friends! SparklyJul has done several posts, she has two kids like me, works more than me AND writes fanfic, she's a machine!!!

So, here I am at work while it's a bit quiet ... *checks over shoulder to see if anyone is watching*

I have commented previously on how I don't have much twi-merch except the books & DVDs (of course) and a bookmark I made - (make that two bookmarks, TK50 gave me one as well).

But, it turns out - on further reflection - that not only am I a big fat liar, but a freak of nature whose life is influenced by twilight-related things. For example, I'd like to introduce you to Edward and Jasper (or Eddie and Jazz). Two little brothers we adopted on New Year's Eve. My husband just rolled his eyes at the names, I tell people my kids named them, when really they chose the names from a list of three that I gave them!

Edward has the black face and Jasper has the mask

And I've just remembered, I also have a pair of Edward socks that I wore to bed last winter. Next purchase - wine glass charms, saw them advertised online at Christmas and couldn't decide (hmm, that really is a problem!!) which set to get, there's no need for signs when it's ALL good, just not the ones with wolves on them.

Do you wear the Cullen Crest proudly or have Edward's face across your breasts (on a t-shirt)? Or are you a Subtle Suzy and incorporate Twilight into you 'everyday' decisions?
So, then I had to choose a headboard for our new kingsize bed and couldn't decide between dark brown or really dark brown (it's basically black). The name of the stain for the really dark brown wood was 'Eclipse' - Sold. "That's the one I want" I told that saleslady, 'it's a sign!' I thought to myself. A few months later we bought a house and needed bedside tables to match the headboard. Couldn't decide again (I used to be indecisive, but now I just don't know!!!)... 'Which handles do I like? Two drawers or three? I need a sign!'... one of the sets was called 'Bella'. "That's the one right there" I say - with authority - to the salesman!

I'd Like to Thank the Academy...

I won an award!

My bloggy BFF and mentor, 17foreverLisa, listed TwiKiwi among her One Lovely Blog recipients!

I feel honoured, thanks Lisa. Not only for this award, but for all the love, help, support and friendship. Aww.

 Award Rules:
To accept this award one must follow the rules.
1. Thank the person that gave it to you and link it back to their blog.
2. Post 7 random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to 15 other blogs.

I'm nothing if not a little random, so here goes nothing!

1. I like to drink cold milk when I eat fish and chips.
2. I am a creature of routine. And I love a good list. Writing a list makes the world a better place.
3. I don't particularly like candles. Unless they serve a purpose, like citronella.
4. I love boxed sets of books. Twilight, Southern Vampire Mysteries, Hunger Games, Harry Potter... all in boxes on my shelves.
5. I love photography. You can check out some recent examples here.
6. I do not make a good passenger. I love to drive and be in control. Oh and am petrified to drive on the WRONG side of the road when I go to America this year.
7. I paint my toenails every week using my ridiculously large collection of OPI nail polish. Some say addict, I say collector.

Without futher ado, I pass on this award to 15 of my favourite blogs (in no particular order):

The blog that started it all for me, and the reason I met all my h00rs. Jenny Jerkface, Snarkier than You, LatchkeyWife and Texas Katherine are fucking hilarous. Thanks ladies!

Jaymes' brand new blog sharing all the Rath-lurve...

TwiredJen & Elusive S keep us laughing and perving with great vids, pics and stories.

Jaymes and Demanda's take on life. The laundy basket post was one of the funniest I've ever read.

DD is one of my bloggy besties and always has lovely things to say :-)

MusingBella keeps me giggling. Check out It's Whine Thirty too, a communal rant blog she started.

AllTwiedUp has been a little busy with RL lately but her blog is worth a follow, she's a funny girl.

Micki_Martini has some fantastic fic recommendations here and some insights into RL too.

Cougar Chloe lends her British take on all matters FanFiction & Robp0rn.

LwE's house is full. How she keeps track of all the Edwards AND find time to tell us all about it, I'll never know.

Robszie & Jen (oh she of the many aliases) crack me up, regularly.

Smitten tells it as she sees it!

StarlitViolets has been a little quiet of late, but she's got some gold in the archives :-)

Kassie and UtterlyAbsurdBella run a tight ship. They're doing an EP readalong right now... yay for MPW!

KiTT always entertains. My favourite of late is definitely the TwiPeople post.

Several people have asked me about my accent recently... Thought I'd share this little funny with you. This was made by a group of Australians taking the mickey out of us kiwis. I think the intention was that we'd be offended, but everyone I know thinks it's hilarious!

I'm gonna start dropping some kiwi-isms into my tweets from now on...

Two hot steamy nights with Rob

Disclaimer: It's really muggy here at the moment. Hence the hot, steaminess. Sorry to disappoint.

In the last week I have had two Rob dreams. Now usually, I lay in bed, basking in the glory that was the dream, and then get up, go to work and promptly forget everything. So, today I am spending time on the clock writing it down, so that I can share it with you h00rs. Cos y'know, TwiredJen started it....

Last night's dream: I was going to interview Rob for something, think I was a reporter or similar. Anyway, I had to walk for MILES up a hill to get there, and was all worried about being sweaty. Then, I get halfway and realise i've got no shoes on. Hmmm. Had to go back to the car, and on the way there, dropped the iPod that had all my questions prerecorded. Luckily, I found that again on the way back. It looked like  Wii nunchuck, BTW. Sure, THOSE are the details I remember...

So I finally make it to the top of the hill and into this room, which looked like a primary school classroom. And there sits Rob, in his maroon suit jacket (but with casual clothes, jeans I think) he was stoked he got to keep the jacket after the Eclipse premiere. Kristen was there too, just hanging out. I don't remember much about her... think I blocked it out.

Hey there. Sit, chat a while...
I start asking Rob questions and he was really chatty and smiled a lot. I think I woke up to pee then (curses!) and spent the next half an hour willing myself back into the dream. Of course that never happens.

This brings me back to previous Rob dream I had earlier in the week. Seriously, I must be reading way too p0rn before bed. Not complaining! A single gal will take whatever she can get...

Ideally, I'd like this. Please?

Anyway, the other dream. I don't remember all the details about this one, hence I haven't blogged earlier. However, what I can tell you is that I was working in the crew on one of his movies. For his part, he was required to wear a strap on pregnancy belly, and arse. Like, junk-in-the-trunk arse (OK Jamie, ass, whatever).

So fucking funny. He HATED wearing it, and ran back to the trailer everytime they called 'cut' so he could get rid of it. He was like a whiny child - "I'm hot, it's itchy" blah blah blah. An incredibly spunky whiny child though... mmm...

Like this, but scarier. Yup.

He's bringing sexy back.

Yeah, so that's my exciting night life. Anyone else have crazy twi-related dreams?

Miscellaneous ramblings...

So, the tagline on this blog is 'Miscellaneous Ramblings of a Twitard'... here we go. This is as miscellaneous as it gets. I have a whole bunch of unrelated (but related to all things twi) shit in my head, and it's coming out.

** Warning: There is an MotU news spoiler in this post**

1. FRUSTRATION

I keep hearing this Katy Perry song, and it makes me think of Rob. Why? Because I watched a fuckawesome video a while back, which used this song. It was AMAZING. Here's the thing. I can't remember where I saw it. It may have been from Biel, but I can't find it.

I wanna watch it again, cos it's been frustrating me for a while now. I wouldn't really consider myself a Katy fan... but it's on rapid repeat on the radio right now and swirling sexy Rob images in my head? Umm, yes please. Can anyone help with a link to the vid I'm talking about?

2. EXCITEMENT

You might be aware (if you have been paying attention) that Master of the Universe by Snowqueens Icedragon is my favourite work of fan fiction. Well, one of my favourites. The other is Emancipation Proclamation by Kharrazmatik.

Icy announced, in her MotUII update on Saturday that the story is BEING PUBLISHED! Squee! My fellow Fifty fan Lisa and I were jumping up and down, as was the rest of twitter, given that #MotU became a worldwide trending topic for a while there!

I am very excited at this news and very pleased for Icy. I hope you're all up to date with MotU, as it has been pulled from the website, aside from the most recent two chapters. Can't wait for the books. Yes, that's right, books. Plural!

Oh, as an aside, I also heard that EP is being published. I haven't heard that from an authorised source though. Fingers crossed.

3. BLOG NEWS

One of my twi-BFFs, Jaymes from Borderline Phenomenal, has a NEW BLOG! Rathgasm101 is now in session. Get on over there for all your Rathboner requirements. It's well worth a look, some hilarious posts from our favourite advocate for the disease of Jacksonitis.

4. ANTICIPATION

Not long now until Water for Elephants is released. Hooray! I for one am so looking forward to the day when Rob is more than just 'Edward Cullen' to the mainstream media, and my bets are that this movie will really help that. I was really bummed for ages that the release date here in NZ was scheduled as June 7th. THEN, last night, I read it's gonna come out here on May 11th! Yay!

Did you see the new trailers? Oh my. They're swoon-worthy. Even if you've seen them already, take another look. I can't wait for this movie. If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it. Great story!

Ooh and who doesn't like a good bit of hot, sweaty, angry, dirty Rob. Yes please.

Rambling out. Thank you for listening.

My VF virginity is intact

Just a quickie (TWSS). I have specially pre-ordered a copy of American Vanity Fair. By airmail, people. That's how dedicated I am. SQUEE!

It won't be here until mid-March and I am paying $25 (NZD) for the pleasure (I think that's about $18 USD) so... I decided to keep my Spoiler h00rish ways OUT of this.

I haven't seen anything about the article. I have seen the cover:

And a couple of pics of 'the hat' to see what all the fuss is about, but I'm staying away from the article until I get my hot little hands on my copy.

Hooray!

Oh, and did you see - TWITTER mentioned, next to a pic of Rob. Could he be unveiling his @name? Most excellent!

BTW, Happy hump hump hump day, peeps xxx
